The 1985 Australian $200 Gold Koala Coin was the first release in the nation’s $200 gold coin series, struck by the Royal Australian Mint. Designed by Stuart Devlin, the reverse depicts a koala resting in a eucalyptus tree, symbolising Australia’s distinctive wildlife. The obverse features Raphael Maklouf’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
