Sir John Forrest (1847–1918) was an Australian explorer, politician, and the first Premier of Western Australia (1890–1901). He played a key role in the state's development and later served in federal politics, contributing to Australia's Federation. Forrest was also a notable surveyor, leading several expeditions into Australia's interior.
