The Southern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum simum) is a large herbivorous mammal native to southern Africa. They have a grayish-brown skin, two horns, and a humped back. These social creatures can weigh up to 2.5 tons and are known for their peaceful demeanor. Unfortunately, they are critically endangered due to poaching for their horns, which are falsely believed to possess medicinal properties. Conservation efforts are underway to protect and increase their dwindling population.
